"Resilience - the ability to withstand difficult situations without giving up"

We will all have bad days.

Those days when you don't feel like waking up. You don't feel like going to the gym. You want to call in sick to work. You don't want to pick up the phone. You don't want to see anyone. You don't want to speak to anyone. And on some days, sadly, you don't feel like you are anyone.

When you reach rock bottom, there really is nowhere else to go. You cannot climb lower than the base of a mountain, but you can always set the sky as your limit.

- SOBRIETY -

Over 50% of the UK population consumes alcohol regularly.

"I never used to be much of a drinker myself growing up. However, between the ages of 22-26, I started to drink a lot more socially. I never was addicted.

However, I realised the only reason I was engaging in it was not to be social, but merely as a means to delay, avoid and procrastinate on the more important decisions I needed to make in my own life.

Going sober has been one of the best decisions I've in my life."

- MEDITATION -

Meditation originated in India and is thoroughly used as a tool to reduce anxiety.

"Meditation is a tool I use in my life to relax my thoughts and reduce my feeling of anxiety. It has helped me realise that most problems are not as bad as they appear on the surface.

I try to meditate at least once a day to regain control over my direction of focus and to remove any negative thought patterns."

- COLD SHOWERS -

Just 60 seconds of cold water exposure can be enough to reap the benefits.

"I never liked the cold so the idea of cold showers was frightening. However, I have experienced many benefits from cold showers; improved exercise recovery is one of them.

Taking cold showers helps calm my thoughts, reduce my stress and makes me feel exhilarated after it is finished."

- JOURNALING -

Journaling brings your thoughts to the present moment, reminds you of the past and reigns in hope of the future.

"Most people overestimate what they can do in a day and underestimate what they can achieve in a year.

Journaling has helped me to purge my thoughts, gain clarity as to where I am at in life and focus on what I wanted to be doing more of and what activities that I should engage In less often."
